Jewellery Hallmarking

Pure silver is softer than sterling silver as it is not an alloy and it does not contain any other metals to harden it.  As it is a softer metal over time it will age and it can be worn down by regular use, especially bracelet charms and keyrings which inevitably suffer a lot of knocks.

Under current legislation silver items that weigh less than 7.78 grams do not need to be hallmarked.  Most of our fingerprint, hand and footprint and mini-art products weigh below this and therefore do not require a hallmark.  If a product does require a hallmark this will be stated in the description and will be included in the cost.

If however you would like your item to be hallmarked we can send it off to the Assay Office for you but this will incur an additional cost and may delay the delivery time.

Each Hallmark is 0.5mm and items will be marked with the Tiny Trinkets mark, Birmingham Assay Office, Fineness and Year.
